The plant material includes G5V12, also known as Wadenswil, together with Abel, 115, 777 and MV6 clones, giving Samantha Connew a diverse palette of Pinot Noir material from the same distinctive site. The vineyard’s cool southern Tasmanian setting supports the bright acidity, aromatic lift and finely structured fruit for which Stargazer’s Pinot Noir has become known. The 2025 release continues the estate’s increasingly detailed exploration of the Palisander vineyard and the individual character of its Pinot Noir blocks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor the 2025 vintage, approximately 20% whole bunch was incorporated into fermentation, adding subtle savoury and herbal complexity while retaining the clarity of the fruit. The wine was matured in 500-litre oak barrels, with around 20% new oak, allowing the wood influence to sit behind rather than dominate the Pinot Noir. The wine shows vivid red cherry, small strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate, complemented by amaro-like herbs and fragrant Asian spice. Its palate combines youthful juiciness and generosity with fine structure, freshness and a restrained savoury dimension from the whole-bunch component.
