Younger Barbados rums aged for one to three years are blended with older Jamaican high-ester rums aged for ten to fifteen years. This combination balances the rounded, supple character of Barbados rum with the powerful fruit and aromatic intensity associated with Jamaica. Bottled at 40% ABV, Original Dark is particularly suited to cocktails while retaining enough complexity to enjoy on its own.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFollowing maturation, the selected rums are blended and allowed to marry for several months in wooden vats to integrate their flavours and textures. On the palate, white raisin and dried pineapple provide a fruit-driven opening before warming spice and firmer mineral notes develop.
