Produced entirely from Pinot Noir, this limited red Burgundy comes from the Premier Cru sector of La Boudriotte in Chassagne-Montrachet. Although the village is internationally renowned for Chardonnay, La Boudriotte has a longstanding reputation as a distinguished site for red wine. The vineyard forms part of the southern group of Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru climats traditionally associated with the broader Morgeot area. Its relatively deep clay-limestone soils support Pinot Noir with generous fruit, structure and savoury mineral character. Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey first introduced this cuvée with the 2023 vintage, making the 2024 only its second release.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2024 wine comes from two parcels, one planted approximately 80 years ago and the other around 40 years ago. Half of the fruit was vinified as whole bunches, contributing aromatic detail, freshness and structural complexity. A vintage-specific cellar tasting described the wine as richly fruited, with a silky sensation across the palate. Its tannins are moderate rather than imposing, allowing the fruit to remain clear and expressive. Fresh mineral acidity provides definition and balances the natural generosity of the site. The resulting style combines the substance expected of Premier Cru Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge with the domaine’s characteristically precise and restrained handling. Although attractive for its fruit and supple texture, its tannic structure and acidity should support further development in bottle.
