The vines, more than 60 years old, sit on steep, clay-limestone slopes with contrasting east and west exposures, bringing together two distinct expressions of this celebrated Grand Cru. Pierre-Vincent Girardin, a 13th-generation Burgundian winemaker, began his own domaine at just 21 and has since built a reputation for working with some of Burgundy’s most sought-after vineyards. His approach here is focused on precision and transparency, allowing the character of the site to remain at the centre of the wine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLight and floral on the nose, the wine moves into lemon, flint and wet stone, with a distinctly saline character adding depth. The palate is straight and crystalline, combining fine texture with bright acidity and a persistent mineral line. Whole-cluster vinification is followed by 12 months in 456-litre oak barrels and a further eight months in steel, giving the wine time to develop without obscuring its freshness or site expression. Structured, precise and built for longevity, the 2024 has the concentration and acidity to evolve for many years, with an ageing potential of up to 25 years.
