The vineyard includes Grenache planted in 1939, Shiraz dating to 1941 and Chenin Blanc planted in 1964, alongside a small block of Cabernet Sauvignon on the higher plateau. Fine Maslin sands over a layer of ironstone pebbles combine with cooling south-westerly sea breezes to give the site its distinctive perfume, freshness and structural character.
