Bremley’s vineyard lies beneath Gunnings Sugarloaf in a naturally sheltered amphitheatre, where long warm growing days are balanced by cool nights. The site’s black cracking clay and dolerite soils contribute to a style combining fruit concentration with the freshness expected from cool-climate Tasmania. Owners James and Vanessa Bresnehan work with respected winemakers Justin Bubb and Anna Pooley to produce wines focused closely on the character of this individual vineyard. The 2025 Pinot Noir shows a vibrant combination of dark cherry, wild strawberry and red berry fruit supported by subtle spice and earthy complexity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe fruit was completely destemmed before fermentation and spent approximately 18 days on skins to develop colour, flavour and structure. Following fermentation, the wine matured for 10 months in François Frères French oak puncheons, with 35% new oak contributing texture and savoury complexity while allowing the fruit to remain prominent. The palate is silky and energetic, bringing together black cherry, raspberry and plum with bright acidity and finely structured tannins. Gentle oak influence adds spice and depth without obscuring the wine’s cool-climate freshness.
