Pinot Noir from Tauxières and Verzenay is incorporated alongside the Aÿ component to bring additional complexity and balance. The principal base year is 2018, a Champagne growing season characterised by abundant yields and an early harvest, while chalk-rich vineyard soils helped preserve concentration, natural ripeness and vibrant acidity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe blend also incorporates older reserve wines preserved in Bollinger’s distinctive reserve-magnum system, with the oldest component dating back to 2009. This use of mature reserve material contributes additional aromatic depth and reinforces the house’s long-established approach to producing complex, vinous Champagne. PN AYC18 is matured in Bollinger’s cellars for more than twice the minimum period required by Champagne appellation regulations and is finished with a restrained dosage of 6 grams per litre. Its character is rich yet controlled, combining ripe fruit, candied citrus and sweet-spice elements with freshness and a broad, structured palate. Bollinger describes the wine as golden with bronze reflections, with aromas encompassing honey, quince, fruit jellies, candied citrus, marzipan, blood orange, sweet spices and a refreshing menthol note. On the palate it is serious, understated and expansive, with confit citrus bringing freshness through the finish.
