Barringwood Mill Block Pinot Noir 2016
The Barringwood Mill Block Pinot Noir 2016 is a bright plum/soft raspberry colour. On the nose is strawberries and cherries giving away to savoury earthy undertones. The palate offers gentle fruit characters giving way to a spicy earth finish. The fine powdery tannins give this wine length and elegance.
Hand picked grapes were destemmed to open top fermenter with 15% whole bunches included, then cold soaked for 5 days. Fermentation commenced naturally with a yeast inoculation after one third of sugar was fermented. On completion of primary fermentation wine was pressed French oak (20% new) barrels where it was aged for 10 months.
