Adèle focused on vineyards and winemaking while Pierre Nicolas focused on sales and marketing. Shipments to Great Britain began in 1815, followed by the United States in 1837. After Charles Perrier, Henri Gallice and his younger brother Octave became Perrier-Jouët directors. Octave, an art lover, met Emile Gallé in Paris and requested a design for Maison Perrier-Jouët, which became the iconic emblem of the brand. One of the world's oldest champagnes, a Perrier-Jouët vintage 1825, was opened and tasted in 2009. Harold Macmillan, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1957 to 1963, favoured vintage Perrier-Jouët. This passion has been passed down through the generations, shaping the House's philosophy of creative freedom and unconventional observation of nature. Maison Perrier-Jouët's affinity with the Art Nouveau movement is expressed through the emblematic anemone motif illustrated by Emile Gallé in 1902. Today, the House continues to reinvent luxury by collaborating with artists to create an extravagant universe. Along with their unique legacy, such as the creation of their first brut champagne in 1842 and the iconic floral Cuvée named Belle Epoque Cuvée, Perrier-Jouët also made history with the appointment of the first woman to hold the position of cellar master in 2020. Perrier-Jouët produces a wide range of vintage and non-vintage cuvée, with an annual production of approximately 3,000,000 bottles. The pride of the brand is its prestige label, Belle Epoque. With 266 acres of vineyards situated in the heart of Champagne, Perrier-Jouët maintains control over the quality and consistency of its champagne production. More than half of its vineyards are located in the Grand Crus of Cramant and Avize, allowing Perrier-Jouët to create exceptional champagne that is unparalleled in quality and taste. Today, as a member of the Pernod Ricard group of brands, Perrier-Jouët's legacy of exceptional champagne-making continues to thrive and evolve. Shenk's whiskey was made from rye grain, which was a favourite local crop in the Pennsylvania Blue Mountain Valley where the distillery was located. During the Revolutionary War, General George Washington purchased whiskey from Shenk's to fortify his men as they hunkered down in their camp through the long, brutal winter at Valley Forge. The Michter's Pennsylvania management would later say that Michter's was "the whiskey that warmed the American Revolution."

In the mid-1800s, Pennsylvania Dutchman Abraham Bomberger purchased the distillery and it became known as Bomberger's. However, the passage of Prohibition in 1919 forced the distillery, along with other American spirits producers, to shut its doors to the public. Although the distillery did reopen after the repeal of Prohibition, it changed hands many times over the next few decades and frequently occupied a precarious financial position. In 1989, with the entire American whiskey industry suffering a prolonged downturn, Michter's then-owners declared bankruptcy and abandoned the premises, leaving its Pennsylvania operations in disrepair and the Michter's name seemingly lost to history.

However, in the 1990s, Joseph J. Today, Michter's has three locations in Kentucky, including a 78,000 square foot distillery in the Shively section of Louisville, the architecturally significant Fort Nelson Building on Louisville's Museum Row and 205 acres of farm land in Springfield. The winery has built a reputation for producing expressive wines with purity and finesse. The wines are a direct reflection of their individual vineyard sites, which are located across the Yarra Valley from Tarrawarra to Gladysdale. The founder of Giant Steps Wines, Phil Sexton, is a wine industry pioneer who ventured from Margaret River to Yarra Valley in search of the ideal site to cultivate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of purity and finesse. Phil found his holy grail near Gruyere in the Sexton vineyard, which he planted in 1997 on the steep slopes of the Warramate Ranges. Being a mad jazz fan, Phil named the winery after John Coltrane’s album and fitting metaphor “Giant Steps.” In 2003, Winemaker Steve Flamsteed joined the team, and the two set about producing a range of iconic Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays that express a profound sense of place from six finite sites in Yarra Valley. The winery's Head of Winemaking and Viticulture, Melanie Chester, who joined the team in 2021, is committed to honoring the expressions and diversity of its single sites. This means keeping the winemaking tight and transparent so that the diversity of the site is what you taste. “The wines will never look the same because the vineyards continue to change,” she explains, “but we are committed to ensuring that the quality will be the same if not better.” For more than 20 years, Giant Steps has been advancing Australia’s reputation for cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Sourced from the historic Cooinda Vale vineyard, this wine reflects a site long recognised for producing Chardonnay of depth and clarity. The cool climate and sheltered aspect of the vineyard contribute to fruit of remarkable purity, allowing bright acidity and mineral tension to take centre stage. In the glass, the wine is poised and finely detailed, balancing concentrated citrus and stone fruit with subtle savoury complexity. Gentle use of French oak and extended lees contact add texture and nuance without overshadowing the fruit. Created entirely from Chardonnay, the cuvée draws fruit from ten carefully selected crus across the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims and Sézannais. The blend incorporates approximately 30% reserve wines, bringing depth and consistency while preserving the grape variety’s naturally vibrant character. These reserve wines are selected from a collection of more than 150 wines maintained separately by cru and aged on their fine lees. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, helping retain clarity, freshness and precise varietal expression. Malolactic fermentation is predominantly employed but is determined individually by the Chief Winemaker according to the character of each wine. The Champagne spends a minimum of 36 months ageing on its lees, followed by at least six months of maturation after disgorgement. Its Extra Brut dosage of 5g/L maintains a distinctly dry profile and allows its citrus, chalk and saline qualities to remain clearly defined.

The bouquet opens with white flowers, lemon and lime, developing additional notes of orange blossom, almond and toasted bread. The finish is pure, mineral and saline, reinforcing the wine’s precise Blanc de Blancs identity. Montilla-Moriles appellation. Produced entirely from Pedro Ximénez grapes, it originates from estate vineyards planted on the region’s chalky white albariza soils. The fruit is harvested by hand before being vinified and selected for extended maturation. Its unusual character begins in special Fino casks that develop differently from the rest of the cellar’s biological wines. The protective veil of flor weakens unusually early in these American oak casks, allowing oxidative maturation to commence. The wine then continues ageing oxidatively for around 25 years, developing the complexity, concentration and savoury depth associated with mature Palo Cortado.

In the glass, it displays an amber colour with copper and greenish reflections. Its intense bouquet reveals tobacco leaves, seasoned wood, black pepper and clove alongside citrus peel and delicate pastry notes. Walnut and hazelnut nuances contribute further maturity and aromatic depth. The palate enters completely dry but expands generously across the mouth, supported by clearly defined acidity. As the wine develops, its freshness gradually gives way to a pronounced saline impression. Despite its considerable age and concentration, the wine remains poised, intense and elegant. The 2026 growing season presented considerable challenges, including frost, hail and a January heatwave, yet the fruit arrived in remarkably sound condition.
